Israeli singer-songwriter Hanan Ben Ari responded from the stage on Monday night after anti-Israel activists attempted to disrupt his concert in Paris.

The performance, held in the French capital, went ahead despite security concerns surrounding the event. According to reports, the decision to fly to Paris and hold the concert as planned was made only after consultations with authorized security officials, who approved the arrangements around the venue.

The concern followed a broader rise in antisemitism in Europe and warnings of possible attempts to interfere with events identified with Israel. Those concerns were partly realized before the concert, when dozens of pro-Palestinian protesters gathered outside the venue.

The demonstrators waved signs, shouted slogans against Israel and against the arrival of the Israeli artist, and attempted to create an intimidating atmosphere for the Israeli and Jewish audience members arriving at the hall.

Despite the noise outside, tight security prevented physical clashes, and the concert hall was filled to capacity. The event became not only a musical performance but also a display of Israeli solidarity among members of the local community and fans who came to support Ben Ari.

When he took the stage, Ben Ari addressed the tension directly rather than ignoring it.

“We are so happy to be here, even more than the last time,” he told the audience. Referring to the protesters outside, he added: “There were a few people outside the show earlier making a little noise. The only way for us to silence them is to sing louder.”

The crowd responded with loud applause and joined him in singing, turning the moment into one of the emotional peaks of the evening.

Footage from the concert showed Ben Ari speaking calmly from the stage while the audience cheered his remarks. The clip quickly circulated on Israeli social media, where many viewers praised his decision to continue with the performance despite the attempted disruption.

The Paris concert comes at a sensitive moment for Israeli artists performing abroad, particularly in Europe, where cultural events connected to Israel have increasingly faced protests, pressure campaigns, and security challenges.

Ben Ari’s response framed the evening as a refusal to be intimidated. Rather than cancel the performance or allow the protests outside to define the event, he used the moment to emphasize presence, resilience, and the power of public Jewish and Israeli expression.

The message was simple: the answer to attempts at silencing would not be withdrawal, but a louder song.
