US Central Command reported today (Thursday) on X/Twitter that six one-way drones had been identified as targeting the US-led naval coalition securing shipping in the Red Sea, known as Operation Prosperity Guardian. The drones were shot down.

Later today, a UK-owned and Palau-flagged cargo ship was targeted by two anti-ship missiles, which caused one minor injury and damage to the ship. The ship continued on its voyage.

Despite the presence of the US naval coalition in the Red Sea and several strikes conducted against Houthi targets in Yemen, Iran-backed Houthi rebels continue to try and fire upon any ship with even a tenuous connection to Israel, the US, and the UK passing through the Red Sea and especially the Bab el-Mandeb straits.
