Netanyahu approves "humanitarian" visits to terrorists who took part in Oct. 7 massacre

The Minister of National Security attacked Netanyahu for his support of Britain's proposal to allow officials to visit Hamas terrorists: "Did our hostages receive a similar visit?"

A confrontation took place today (Thursday) between Prime Minister Netanyahu and Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir against the background of Britain's request to visit Hamas terrorists who took part in the October 7th massacre in southern Israel.

Netanyahu expressed his support for the proposal on the conditioned that it be accompanied by two foreign observers and an Israeli judge. Ben Gvir opposed the move, claiming that a visit by international officials to Israeli hostages in Gaza should also be allowed.

"Did our abductees receive a similar visit?" Ben Gvir was quoted as asking Netanyahu. The minister also claimed that he has received a professionally opinion according to which these visits will lead to negative consequences.

This morning, the security cabinet discussed creative solutions for the ongoing hostage crisis. Following an extended cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Netanyahu met Opposition Leader Yair Lapid to update him on the situation.
