130 heads of state gather in New York for 81st UN General Assembly session

Approximately 130 heads of state are traveling to New York for the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, with numerous diplomatic meetings scheduled throughout the week. President Trump is set to address the assembly today, following Brazilian President Lula da Silva, who speaks first per longstanding tradition. Iran's president will deliver remarks on Wednesday. Prime Minister Netanyahu is scheduled to speak Thursday at approximately 21:00 Israel time. Palestinian Authority Chairman Abu Mazen is also expected to address the assembly Thursday via video after being denied entry to the United States.
