Senior Hamas official Osama Hamdan told Al Jazeera that Israel's assassination of military commander Izz al-Din al-Haddad aims to pressure Hamas into surrender. Hamdan stated that Hamas has "courses of action available" if negotiations fail and warned that deeper Israeli aggression against Gaza would trigger "a broader Palestinian response as well as a regional response." He added that the enemy is not interested in President Trump's plan and that contacts with mediators are ongoing regarding the assassination.

Only three percent of Israeli students achieved scores meeting curriculum standards in national exams, according to leaked data. The Ministry of Education disputed the results, stating there is "grave concern over the reliability" of the exam data. A ministry spokesperson said professional bodies raised "serious allegations" about the National Authority for Measurement and Evaluation (RAMA) and accused RAMA of illegally leaking data and conducting a "misleading media campaign" to avoid professional review. The ministry said a "thorough and comprehensive" review will be conducted despite RAMA's "attempts at concealment."

Hamas held elections for its leadership, but no winner emerged in the first round. Hezbollah launched rockets Friday at IDF soldiers operating in southern Lebanon, with projectiles landing in open areas and no injuries reported. The Israeli Air Force subsequently struck two terrorists operating from a structure in the launch area, with secondary explosions indicating weapons stored inside. IDF forces from the 91st Division also discovered a Hezbollah weapons storage facility containing warheads, magazines, vests, helmets, weapon barrels, and tripods. The IDF says it will continue operating against threats to Israeli civilians and soldiers.

The sources published photos from the funeral. A video released after the strike shows al-Haddad training his wife in shooting and grenade throwing.

The IDF has eliminated Izz al-Din al-Haddad, head of Hamas' military wing and a key perpetrator of the October 7th massacre. IDF Chief of the General Staff called it "a significant operational achievement" led by Southern Command, IDF intelligence, the Israeli Air Force, and the ISA. "In every conversation I held with the hostages who returned, the name of the arch-terrorist Izz al-Din al-Haddad came up again and again," he stated. The Chief of Staff vowed to continue pursuing those responsible for the October 7th attack, saying "We will not relent until we reach them all."

Mohammad Baqir al-Saadi, a senior member of the Iraqi Hezbollah Brigades, was arrested at a Turkish airport during a connecting flight to Russia and extradited to the FBI after two days. He is accused of planning 18 attacks against Jewish targets as revenge for Israeli operations against Iran. Some attacks were carried out in Europe, including the Netherlands and London, while others were planned for locations such as a synagogue in New York. Al-Saadi is expected to stand trial in the United States.
