All Haifa Beaches Closed After Possible Whale Shark Sighting

All swimming beaches in Haifa have been closed after a lifeguard from the city’s beach department spotted a large marine animal in the water near the southern beaches. Officials believe the creature could be a whale shark. The Haifa Municipality has notified the Unit for Planning, Environment, and Sustainability, the Israel Nature and Parks Authority, and the Coastal Guard. Authorities said they will provide updates as the situation develops.
