Cleared for publication: Itai Shamai (13) was murdered by his mother on Shavuot eve in Modi’in.

His funeral is expected to take place this afternoon. “With shock, deep sorrow, and profound pain, we announce the tragic passing of our dear student, Itai Shamai, of blessed memory,” read the statement from the school he attended. “Itai was a sensitive, caring boy, loved by his friends and the school staff. His quiet smile, generosity, and open heart touched everyone who knew him. His sudden departure leaves a deep void in all of our hearts.”
