Como 1907 is implementing new academy rules to limit heading for young players. The club will eliminate heading for its youngest players before gradually introducing the technique under strict limits as they develop. Coaches will reduce unnecessary heading around matches and avoid repetitive heading drills. Raphaël Varane, who sits on Como's Board of Education, said the changes are designed to "protect our kids" while teaching the skill "properly, step by step."
