The Democrats party sent a warning letter Sunday to the Likud, demanding the immediate removal of what it called a "false video" posted by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on his X (Twitter) account.
The video presents a recording of Democrats chairman Yair Golan, with a claim that the remarks were made at a "meeting of Change Bloc leaders." The Democrats say this is entirely false. The recording was taken from a public, open interview Golan gave to Reshet Bet radio.
The party called it "a blatant attempt to deceive the public and mislead voters through a fabricated presentation, which also constitutes a violation of election propaganda law."
In its statement, the Democrats said: "We have given Likud an ultimatum to remove the false publication from all platforms by 19:00 today. If the demand is not met, we intend to take all legal measures available to us."
