A moment of inattention at a busy Herzliya intersection, followed by a candid phone admission is all it took to seal the outcome of a traffic accident case at the Herzliya Magistrate Court. The case demonstrates how real-time video evidence can decisively resolve disputes that might otherwise devolve into "he said, she said" standoffs.
According to court documents, the collision occurred at a major junction connecting Menachem Begin Road in Herzliya with the northbound Ayalon Highway. The plaintiff, driving a personally imported BMW luxury vehicle, was struck with considerable force by a car approaching from the opposite direction.
From the outset, each party insisted the traffic light was green in their direction, while accusing the other of either running a red light or becoming confused by multiple signals at the intersection. With no official municipal cameras at the scene and both sides presenting testimony from passengers considered interested parties, the case appeared destined to become a classic credibility contest.
