Egypt tells Saudi Arabia it prefers diplomacy over military escalation in Yemen

Egypt has informed Saudi Arabia it favors diplomatic solutions over military escalation in Yemen, sources told Al-Akhbar. Cairo's approach focuses on safeguarding Saudi economic and security interests through naval, air, and intelligence support rather than ground operations. Egyptian officials cautioned that war against the Houthis would constitute indirect confrontation with Iran and make Egypt a target. While threats to oil tankers in the Red Sea could prompt Egyptian action to protect freedom of navigation, Cairo will not engage in operations inside Yemen.
