Erdoğan seeks Turkish role in Lebanon after UNIFIL mandate ends
Turkish President Erdoğan expressed interest in Turkey participating in initiatives to ensure Lebanon's sovereignty after the withdrawal of UNIFIL forces, speaking at a joint press conference with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun in Ankara. Erdoğan stated that Turkey is "interested in participating in all initiatives aimed at ensuring and strengthening Lebanon's sovereignty" and emphasized readiness to assist in reconstructing southern Lebanon, which was severely damaged by Israeli attacks. He also confirmed continued Turkish support for the Lebanese Armed Forces in the security sphere.
