A former employee of the Israeli Prime Minister's Residence filed a lawsuit Tuesday seeking 450,000 shekels (approximately $125,000) in damages from the Prime Minister's Office, alleging years of mistreatment by Sara Netanyahu, wife of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The claim was first reported by journalist Aviad Glickman on Channel 13 News.
According to the lawsuit, the employee endured daily verbal abuse, derogatory language, unreasonable demands, and round-the-clock work requirements that violated his employment contract. The situation allegedly deteriorated to the point that in December 2025, he was transferred to a position within the Prime Minister's Office itself. "In December 2025, after his physical and mental strength was completely exhausted, the defendant agreed to transfer the plaintiff to work at the Prime Minister's Office," the lawsuit states.
The complaint emphasizes that these were not isolated incidents but rather a sustained pattern of behavior. "This lawsuit details an extremely difficult saga of prolonged abuse that the plaintiff suffered on a daily basis. Shouting, derogatory names, unreasonable demands, employment around the clock contrary to the employment contract, all of these were his daily lot for years," the filing reads.
The employee further alleges that officials who were aware of the conditions at the residence failed to intervene or protect him. "All relevant parties knew everything and were familiar with the severe abuse and the unacceptable conditions under which the plaintiff was employed, and chose to turn a blind eye and ignore it. Even when he complained, they did nothing to protect his rights," the lawsuit claims.
This lawsuit follows another filed last month by Yechiel Ohev Ami, 61, who served as an operations assistant at the Prime Minister's Residence. Ohev Ami filed a separate claim with the regional labor court seeking approximately 300,000 shekels in compensation, also alleging severe and prolonged mistreatment by Sara Netanyahu.
In Ohev Ami's lawsuit, he claimed that the prime minister's wife shouted at him, cursed and humiliated him, imposed unusual demands, and physically attacked him on three occasions. According to his account, in one incident she pushed him with the side of her body, pressed him against a wall, and shouted: "Who's an idiot? Who's retarded?" In another instance, after he returned from a smoking break, she allegedly told him: "I wish you get cancer" and "I hope you die."
The two lawsuits involve different employees and seek different compensation amounts, but both allege prolonged abuse by the prime minister's wife during their employment at the residence.
