Gaza Hospital Warns of Polio Surge

Ahmed Al-Fara, director of Al-Tahrir Hospital in Gaza’s Nasser Medical Complex, reported polio virus particles in sewage and an 80% shortage of essential medicines, with vaccination efforts failing due to blocked medical supplies and closed crossings. He called for a fourth polio vaccine dose, as recommended by WHO and UNICEF, but noted that limited resources force the use of less effective treatments.
