IDF Chief of Staff visits northern border, vows to push threat away

IDF Chief of General Staff LTG Eyal Zamir visited Metula and Kiryat Shmona on Saturday, meeting with local leaders and presenting operational assessments. "We will not stop until the threat is pushed away from our border and long-term security is ensured for the residents of the north," Zamir stated. He emphasized that the IDF struck targets in Iran and is prepared to enhance defensive posture in the north, noting that weakening Iran also weakens Hezbollah. Zamir said the military is conducting limited, targeted ground operations and will continue striking Hezbollah leadership, adding: "We will not return to a cycle of escalation." He praised the resilience of northern residents, saying their steadfastness enables continued operations against the enemy.
