IDF Commander Takes Responsibility for Tze'ela Gez's Murder

Central Command Commander, Major General Avi Bluth, at a meeting with youth in Brukhin: "We are reeling from a very severe terror attack in which Tzaela Gaz, z"l, a resident of Brukhin, was murdered. As the commander responsible for everything that happens in the Central Command area, I tell you that this is my failure. We are doing everything to improve, learn lessons, and prevent the next incident. For several months now, we have been operating in the refugee camps and not leaving them, changing the reality with the understanding that shaping the environment leads to its stabilization—we believe that terror is defeated through offensive action. The trends on the ground in recent months are positive. It’s important to remember that for every attack that occurs, many others are prevented through the determined, daily actions of our forces in the field. This activity helps prevent future attacks and implement our vision that terror encounters the military, allowing civilians to live their daily lives."
