IDF Eliminates Hamas Counterintelligence Chief

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) and Shin Bet carried out a targeted operation in northern Gaza earlier this week, killing Amjad Mohammad Hassan Shaer, the head of Hamas’s Counterintelligence Directorate within its General Security Apparatus.Shaer’s directorate was tasked with suppressing dissent against Hamas’s rule, countering espionage, and protecting senior Hamas leaders and their assets both in Gaza and abroad. This unit plays a critical role in Hamas’s General Security Apparatus, which gathers intelligence to support the group’s leadership in planning and executing terror attacks against Israel.In addition, over the past 24 hours, the Israeli Air Force conducted strikes on dozens of terror targets across Gaza. These included terrorist squads, military buildings, combat tunnels, anti-tank positions, weapons stockpiles, and other terror infrastructure, with air support provided to ground forces.
