IDF Thwarts Attempted Weapons Smuggling on Western Border

IDF forces intercepted a drone carrying weapons that had crossed into Israel from the west in an apparent smuggling attempt, the military said. According to the IDF, surveillance troops and the Air Control Center detected the drone as it entered Israeli territory. Soldiers from the Paran Brigade were dispatched and successfully downed the aircraft, which was found to be carrying two long-barreled firearms. Separately, IDF forces operating in the Paran Brigade’s sector conducted searches in areas previously used by smugglers. Troops located additional contraband, including ammunition and narcotics. The seized weapons and drugs have been transferred to security authorities for further investigation.
