Iran Declares Memorandum Collapsed, No Commitments on Hormuz Strait
Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi stated that the United States has completely collapsed the memorandum of understanding by reinstating the blockade. In a television interview, he declared Iran now has "no commitments whatsoever, including regarding the Strait of Hormuz." Gharibabadi said the memorandum's essence was to end the war against Iran and Lebanon, but this has been violated. He stated that if just one clause is not implemented, the agreement collapses, and the US has now renounced all its commitments. He rejected the idea that blockade pressure would bring Iran back to negotiations, saying the US cannot repeatedly attack Iran and then invite it to negotiate.
