Iranian military advisor threatens U.S. over potential Red Sea conflict

Yahya Safavi, military advisor to Iran's Chief of Staff, warned the United States that opening a new war could trigger a front focused on the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab Strait. "Are they ready to enter a campaign on this front? That is a question to which they should pay much more attention," Safavi stated. He noted that the connection between the Persian Gulf and Red Sea, and between the Strait of Hormuz and Bab al-Mandab, "will change the picture of the war." The statement effectively confirms coordination between Iran and the Houthis regarding the Bab al-Mandab Strait.
