Iraqi Government Officially Designates Houthis, Hezbollah as Terror Organizations

Iraqi state media is reporting a major regional development: Iraq’s government has formally designated the Yemen-based Houthi movement and Lebanon’s Hezbollah as terrorist organizations. According to journalist Itay Blumental, citing Middle East–breaking updates from Kan 11’s Arab Desk (Guy Maayan), the declaration was published today in Iraq’s official government register — the local equivalent of Israel’s Reshumot. In addition to the designation, the Iraqi government announced the freezing of all assets belonging to both the Houthis and Hezbollah within Iraq.
