The IDF's Intelligence Directorate and Air Force have completed preparations for multiple scenarios, covering both defensive systems and offensive strike plans. In recent months, the military has developed an updated target bank inside Iran and refined operational methods based on lessons learned from previous confrontations, aiming to ensure readiness for a swift and significant response in case of escalation. Israeli media reported that a senior Israeli official indicated energy infrastructure in Iran would be among the primary targets.
Defense Minister Israel Katz addressed earlier today the possibility that Iran might choose to attack specifically during the upcoming Jewish holiday period. "As American pressure on Iran increases and the economic stranglehold tightens, there is a likelihood they will attack. We are prepared for this defensively," he said. According to Katz, "We are prepared both defensively and offensively, in coordination with the United States."
Israeli defense officials assess that heavy American economic pressure on Tehran could push the Iranians toward more aggressive measures.
