Israeli Air Force Jet Drops Fuel Tanks Off Ashkelon Coast

The IDF Spokesperson confirmed Wednesday that an Israeli Air Force fighter jet jettisoned its external fuel tanks into the sea off the coast of Ashkelon during a training exercise last week. The maneuver was prompted by a technical malfunction mid-flight. The aircraft returned safely to its base in central Israel following the emergency procedure. No injuries were reported. Earlier today, one of the fuel tanks was discovered on the shoreline in central Israel. Security forces are currently working to recover it.
