Israeli government to approve billion-shekel settlement road plan in West Bank
The Israeli cabinet will approve a plan to pave roads, access routes, and security routes for dozens of new settlements in Judea and Samaria, costing over one billion shekels. The plan was developed by the Settlement Directorate in the Ministry of Defense with the Ministry of Transport and Ministry of Finance. Minister Smotrich describes the road paving as part of a "settlement-security revolution" aimed at preventing establishment of what he calls "a terrorist state in the very heart of the State of Israel." Separately, the Tax Authority notified residents of 64 settlements they will receive a 7% tax benefit starting next month, retroactive to January.
