Italy bans burqa and niqab in schools, limits non-Italian speakers to 30% per class

The Italian government has approved new school regulations banning burqa and niqab in classrooms and capping the proportion of students with low Italian proficiency at 30% per class. Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni stated the measures aim to improve student integration and prevent "ghetto classes." Schools failing to comply face fines of up to 1,000 euros. Hijabs, which leave the face visible, remain permitted.
