Lapid criticizes government over military warnings, cites October 7 lessons

Opposition Leader Yair Lapid issued a statement defending the defense establishment's right to warn of dangers during wartime. Lapid said those claiming such warnings weaken Israel "seem to have forgotten what we learned on October 7th," adding that the military's role is to warn before disaster strikes, not after. He emphasized that the government appointed the current Chief of Staff and will not be able to claim ignorance or blame him politically this time.
