Lithuanian Haredi leader Rabbi Landau says Israel's establishment was a mistake, blames "distorted Torah" for soldiers' deaths

Rabbi Landau, leader of the Lithuanian Haredi community, stated that it would have been preferable if Israel had never been established and the region had remained under the British Mandate. He also claimed that Religious Zionist fighters are being killed because of a "distorted Torah."
