Lod resident indicted for spying for Iran

An indictment was filed against an Israeli citizen suspected of spying for Iran. According to the indictment, he maintained contact with an Iranian agent via Telegram and even met with him in Turkey during 2024. Among other things, he transferred classified information about drone routes and planned IDF attacks in Gaza. According to the indictment, the defendant, who immigrated from Iran, is suspected of providing information on damage to air force bases and exposing an Iranian naval officer working for Israel. The contact took place during Operation “Iron Swords” and lasted for months. The prosecution is requesting his detention until the end of proceedings due to the level of danger and security damage caused.
