Macron claims Hamas has never operated in the West Bank

French President Emmanuel Macron stated that "Hamas has never operated in the West Bank" while criticizing Israeli actions in the territory. Speaking about the West Bank, Macron said: "Day after day, we are witnessing violations. And in the name of what? Hamas has never operated in the West Bank." He added that respecting "the legitimate right of the Palestinian people" is "a necessary condition for the security of the people of Israel, today and in the future."
