One year old baby girl hospitalized with extreme case of measles

A one-year-old baby girl from the ultra-Orthodox neighborhood in Beit Shemesh was rushed to the hospital today after being diagnosed with a severe case of measles. The infant had arrived earlier at a local health clinic, where medical staff quickly identified the seriousness of her condition. She was evacuated by a United Hatzalah ambulance, which later rendezvoused with an intensive care unit for urgent transfer to the hospital. Responders at the scene told News of the City that the child appeared to be in significant distress. The clinic has since been closed temporarily for disinfection. This is not an isolated incident—multiple measles cases are being reported daily in Beit Shemesh, some involving infants in advanced and critical stages of the disease.
