Opposition leaders issue joint call against draft exemption law
Six Israeli opposition leaders issued a joint statement urging coalition Knesset members not to vote for what they called a "draft-dodging law," warning it would severely harm the IDF during wartime. The statement, signed by Yair Lapid, Gadi Eisenkot, Naftali Bennett, Avigdor Lieberman, Yair Golan, and Chili Tropper with reservists led by Yoaz Hendel, referenced the Chief of Staff's dramatic warning against the legislation. "The list of shame of those who support the draft-dodging law will forever be before the eyes of the citizens of Israel who serve and work," the leaders declared.
