Pro-Saudi forces retake strategic Bab al-Mandab area in Yemen's largest operation since Houthi escalation

Pro-Saudi forces backed by Riyadh have recaptured the strategic Bab al-Mandab area on the Red Sea in an operation named "Yemen's Dawn," marking their largest military action since the escalation with the Houthis began. The Houthis are simultaneously advancing on the Taiz front in the southwest. The stated objective is liberating Sana'a, which has been under Houthi control since 2014. Yemeni sources linked to pro-Saudi factions anticipate a prolonged and challenging campaign. Pakistan is expected to provide military support to Saudi Arabia, while the UAE and Qatar have indicated willingness to fund the effort.
