Qatar slams Israeli Top Brass's Visit to Syria

Yesterday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu led a delegation to the Israeli-controlled buffer zone in southern Syria, along the Syrian side of the Golan Heights disengagement line, including areas around Mount Hermon. The delegation included Defense Minister Israel Katz, Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar, IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir, Shin Bet Director David Zini, Israeli Ambassador to the US Yechiel Leiter, and other senior IDF officers and officials. During the visit, Netanyahu thanked IDF troops stationed in the area and stressed the “immense importance” of Israel’s ongoing military presence for national security. He also underscored Israel’s red lines amid stalled security talks with Syria’s new government, stating that Israel would maintain both defensive and offensive capabilities in the region and would not allow hostile forces near the border.
