Sara Netanyahu Declines Independence Day Torch Lighting Honor

Sara Netanyahu has declined the honor of lighting an Independence Day torch, stating it should be dedicated to Israeli citizens and soldiers instead. Following her return from a diplomatic visit to Washington at the invitation of First Lady Melania Trump, Netanyahu thanked MK Shasoon Guetta and Minister Miri Regev for the recommendation. She emphasized that amid Israel's ongoing war and historic challenges with Iran, the torch should represent citizens on the frontlines and home front, as well as soldiers and pilots defending the nation.
