Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland leaders to sign joint independence declaration

The First Ministers of Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland will meet tomorrow in Cardiff to sign a joint declaration calling for recognition of the right to self-determination and independence referendums. John Swinney (Scotland), Rhun ap Iorwerth (Wales), and Michelle O'Neill (Northern Ireland) - all leaders of pro-independence parties - will sign a memorandum promoting cooperation on economy, energy, and European relations. Swinney stated the current British constitutional system is "unsustainable" and called for preparations for a "post-British future." This marks an unprecedented situation with all three regions simultaneously led by pro-independence governments, presenting a challenge for British Prime Minister Andy Burnham.
