Shin Bet denies meeting with Channel 14 influenced Iran leak investigation
The Shin Bet confirms it will investigate leaks about an operation in Iran but denies the probe is connected to a meeting between Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar and Channel 14 commentator Bardugo. The agency states that leak investigations are opened only after a formal process by professional staff and legal advisers, and any attempt to link the decision to conversations with external parties is "completely unfounded." The Shin Bet says the investigation decision was made by Bar long before the meeting took place, adding that the chief occasionally meets with journalists from various media outlets.
