State Prosecutor Eases Arrest Conditions for Reserve NCO

In the ongoing classified documents case tied to the leak of sensitive Israeli military intelligence to the German newspaper Bild, the State Prosecutor’s Office has agreed to ease the arrest conditions of Ari Rosenfeld, a reservist NCO charged in the affair. According to a court filing submitted Tuesday to the Tel Aviv District Court, Rosenfeld will now remain under supervised custody during daytime hours and be placed under full house arrest at night—matching the terms previously granted to Eli Feldstein, a senior adviser to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and a co-defendant in the case. Rosenfeld is accused of unlawfully removing a classified document from the IDF’s elite Intelligence Division unit, known as Unit 8200, and transferring it to Feldstein, who then allegedly passed it along to Bild via Israeli media consultant Yisrael Einhorn. The new decision comes roughly two weeks after the prosecution agreed to soften Feldstein’s restrictions. While the adjustment marks a shift in the state’s position, Rosenfeld’s attorneys, Shuki Lamberger and Uri Korb, expressed dissatisfaction, saying they intend to petition for the removal of all remaining restrictions.
