The Democrats party reaches 100,000 registered members ahead of primaries

The Democrats, Israel's newly formed left-wing party, has reached 100,000 registered members who will vote digitally in primaries today via smartphone. The party, born from the merger of Meretz and Labor, expects a nearly 90% voting rate. According to sources within Likud, The Democrats will be the first and last party to hold primaries in Israel's current elections, possibly the last ever. Veterans from Meretz and Labor estimate this digital registration drive is even more radical than previous membership campaigns, with the last members joining just last week now eligible to vote without meeting candidates or visiting polling stations.
