According to the Georgia Department of Public Safety, the crash began when a Nissan Pathfinder lost control and struck a Ford Explorer.
The initial impact triggered a massive chain reaction involving 17 vehicles, including 14 passenger cars and three heavy commercial trucks.
During the multi-vehicle collision, the trailer hauling the full house overturned across the lanes, adding to the extensive damage at the scene.
