Trump Envoy Delivers Ultimatum to Lebanon

According to Lebanese daily Al Akhbar, U.S. President Donald Trump’s envoy arrived in Beirut with a stark message: Lebanon faces a final opportunity to engage directly with Israel under U.S. oversight to negotiate a timetable and mechanism for Hezbollah’s disarmament. The envoy reportedly warned, “This will be my last visit to Lebanon. They have one last chance: either they learn their lesson and decide to enter into direct negotiations with Israel under U.S. auspices, or Lebanon will be left to its fate, and will remain so for a long time, with no one taking care of it, neither in America nor in the region, and no one able to pressure Israel to prevent it from doing whatever it deems appropriate to carry out disarmament by force.”
