UAE to re-enter Yemen conflict, resuming payments to anti-Houthi forces

The UAE has agreed to rejoin the Yemen conflict by resuming payments to government forces battling the Iran-aligned Houthis in the south. In exchange, Saudi Arabia will provide air cover for the anti-Houthi forces, according to sources in Yemen. The arrangement marks the first concrete indication that the Saudi-Emirati rift over Yemen's future is narrowing, prompted by Houthi advances that have alarmed Gulf rulers.
