United Nations and Red Crescent convoys barred by Suwayda Military Council despite worsening humanitarian conditions
Despite ongoing attempts, humanitarian convoys from the UN and Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) have been denied access to Suwayda by the Druze-majority Suwayda Military Council (SMC). The SMC continues to block entry of food and medicine, citing security concerns and territorial control. Earlier today, an attempt to evacuate Christian and Bedouin families from the embattled region in southern Syria also failed, leaving civilians trapped as violence intensifies.
