Unconfirmed Report: U.S. Offers Hamas Governance Role in Gaza Deal

According to an unverified report by Saudi Arabia’s Al-Sharq channel, the United States has proposed a deal to Hamas that could see the group participate in Gaza’s governance. The alleged American plan reportedly starts with the release of 10 Israeli hostages in exchange for a temporary ceasefire. A senior Hamas official, speaking to Al-Sharq, claimed the group countered with a comprehensive proposal. This includes a permanent ceasefire, complete withdrawal of IDF forces from Gaza, and the release of all Israeli hostages in exchange for an agreed number of Palestinian prisoners. Hamas suggested Gaza be governed by an independent, professional body with full authority.
