President Herzog met with Germany’s new Chancellor Friedrich Merz

Herzog was the first leader to meet the chancellor in his office since he took office. Hanging in the chancellor’s office is a photo of Zikim Beach. As a reminder, on October 7, soldiers and civilians were murdered at Zikim Beach, near the Gaza border fence, as part of the surprise attack on the State of Israel.
