Official: IDF Launches Ground Operation in Gaza Under “Gideon’s Chariots” Campaign

The IDF has launched a broad ground operation across multiple areas of the Gaza Strip as part of the opening phase of Operation Gideon’s Chariots. Over the past 24 hours, regular and reserve forces under the Southern Command began advancing into both northern and southern Gaza, marking a significant escalation in the campaign. In the past week, the Israeli Air Force carried out a massive opening strike, hitting over 670 Hamas targets to disrupt enemy preparations and pave the way for the ground offensive. Targets included weapons depots, militants, underground tunnels, and anti-tank launch sites. The Air Force continues to provide ongoing support to ground forces operating across the Strip. So far, IDF troops have eliminated dozens of terrorists, destroyed both above-ground and underground terror infrastructure, and have taken control of key terrain throughout Gaza. The IDF stated it will continue to operate as long as necessary to protect the citizens of Israel and dismantle terrorist capabilities in the Gaza Strip.
