IDF's 98th Division Launches Major Offensive in Gaza's Khan Younis

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that its elite 98th Division, comprising thousands of paratrooper and commando units, has resumed operations in the Gaza Strip, focusing on southern Gaza's Khan Younis. The deployment is part of a broader offensive aimed at dismantling Hamas's infrastructure. The IDF stated that the division is working to establish "operational control" in the area, targeting Hamas assets both above and below ground. According to the military, the 98th Division has already eliminated dozens of terror operatives through close-quarters combat and airstrikes, while demolishing approximately 200 infrastructures, including tunnels. Currently, five IDF divisions are active in Gaza, the military confirmed.
