IDF Launches First Ground Op in Deir al-Balah Since War Began

In recent hours, troops from the Golani Brigade’s combat team—including engineering and armored units—have begun a ground maneuver in the southern Deir al-Balah area, within the central refugee camps of the Gaza Strip. The entry followed a series of aerial and artillery softening strikes carried out overnight and into the morning. By early afternoon, the ground forces moved into action. At this stage, the operation involves just one brigade and is expected to last several weeks—subject, of course, to changes depending on political developments.
