Louisiana Moves to Recognize Judea and Samaria

The state of Louisiana is set to advance legislation officially recognizing the biblical names “Judea and Samaria” instead of the term “West Bank,” marking a growing wave of U.S. state-level support for Israeli claims to the territory. In a formal event, Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry met with Yossi Dagan, head of the Samaria Regional Council, to announce the initiative. During the meeting, Dagan presented Landry with a certificate of appreciation, calling the planned legislation “a moral and just law.” Governor Landry expressed full backing for Israeli sovereignty in the region: “We stand with you, sovereignty is a key component,” he declared.
