U.S. Sanctions Targets Smuggling Oil to Yemen’s Houthis

The U.S. State Department announced new sanctions on two individuals and five entities accused of smuggling petroleum products to Yemen’s Houthi rebels. Spokesperson Tami Bruce said the sanctions target illegal revenue streams worth millions, which finance Houthi attacks in the Red Sea and beyond. “This is part of our wider effort to disrupt Houthi logistics and ensure freedom of navigation in international waters,” Bruce stated.
