President Donald Trump cast doubt Monday on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s assertion that there is no famine in Gaza, stating:
“From what I see on television, I don’t agree there’s no hunger in Gaza, they look very hungry.”
Speaking during a media briefing, Trump added:
“We’ve given a lot of money to Gaza. Much of it was stolen by Hamas. There are many hungry children there. I’ll be discussing Gaza in depth with Prime Minister Starmer of the UK.”
On Hostages and Hamas
Addressing ongoing hostage negotiations, Trump remarked:
“Many of the hostages are no longer alive. A woman came to the White House and told me her son is gone, she just wants to bring him home. We still have about 20 hostages alive. I told Bibi maybe it’s time to take a different approach.”
He concluded by stating:
“Hamas won’t release a few hostages, they are human shields for them. And frankly, if I weren’t around, the world would probably be in the midst of six major wars right now.”
